Dr. Cristina Sherer

Dr. Sherer became the owner of Powell Veterinary Clinic in 2019, after joining the office in 2005. She earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science at The Ohio State University, then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at The Ohio State Veterinary College in 2001. Dr. Sherer has a special interest in exotic mammalian – “pocket pets” – medicine, which came about from breeding and showing rabbits in her past. She has a small farm where she raises chickens and has horses, llamas, a dog, cats and a saltwater-reef fish tank. In short, she has her own personal zoo. Her farm also is an Ohio Conservation Reserve Program prairie preserve site for wildlife. Dr. Sherer also enjoys scuba diving and gardening.

Dr. Jennifer Sweinhart

Dr. Sweinhart joined the Powell Veterinary Clinic staff in 1997. She graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech), and then Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Dr. Sweinhart has a special interest in veterinary dentistry, and she supervised the acquisition of our first dental X-ray system. Outside of the clinic – Does a world exist outside of the clinic? – Dr. Sweinhart has two daughters and an amazing collection of LEGO toys.

Dr. Rachel Boyce

Dr. Boyce is the most recent addition to our experienced group of veterinarians, having joined Powell Veterinary Clinic in 2019. She attended The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 2011, then her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2015. Dr. Boyce has a special interest in preventative medicine, as well as internal medicine. She lives in Grandview with her husband, young son and their Jack Russell terrier, Murphy. In her free time, Dr. Boyce enjoys cheering on the Buckeyes (“O-H!”), checking out new restaurants and traveling.

DR. MARIE HEREDA

Dr. Marie Hereda joined Powell Veterinary Clinic in September 2021.  She is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University, obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.  Professionally, Marie has a special interest in dentistry and behavioral medicine.  She enjoys educating clients about their furry loved ones to ensure they receive the best care possible.

Dr. Marie lives in Westerville, with her husband, Matt. They share their home with Eddie (an orange tabby), Booker (a Golden Retriever), and Maggie (a Boston Terrier-Schnauzer mix). Dr. Marie enjoys cheering on the Buckeyes (she is a TBDBITL Alumnus), quilting, traveling, attending concerts and cycling.

Our registered veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants treat your pets like their pets. The support-staff members work with the doctors in the exam room, in surgery, in treatment, at the reception desk and in the wards. You’ll even see them outside planting flowers or feeding our bluebirds!
