Letter from New Owner Dr. Cristina Sherer

Dear Valued Client:

As the new owner of Powell Veterinary Clinic, I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to care for your pet and to serve you and your family. I’ve known Dr. Mansfield since my family brought our pets to her when I was a child and have enjoyed working with her since 2006. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this community and for Dr. Mansfield’s time and efforts to make this a seamless transition.

For those of you who may not know me, I’ve been a part of the Powell community since my family moved here in 1978. From a very early age, I loved and studied animals and knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. I attended Olentangy schools from first grade until I graduated from Olentangy High School in 1990. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from The Ohio State University in 1995 and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.

Today, I live in Marengo on my farm along with Leo and King (my horses), Voodoo (my llama), Wanda, Cosmo and Kermit (my cats), Mo (my dog), a burgeoning colony of bees and 125+ chickens. Yes, you read that number correctly. They do not all have names, but I admit Old Lady hen is my favorite! She is more than 10 years old and has the best personality. I love gardening and if you come to the clinic on the right day in summer you may be able to pick up some of my excess produce from harvest!

I’m also really pleased to share that Rachel Boyce, D.V.M., has joined our team. Dr. Boyce came to us from West Jefferson Animal Hospital, where she cared for patients and served clients for three years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The Ohio State University in 2011 and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.

We’re thrilled for Dr. Boyce to join Dr. Sweinhart, our Registered Veterinary Technicians and me to continue providing you with the best care for your pets.

If we haven’t had the opportunity to meet, I look forward to doing so at your next visit. And if you have any questions, you can contact me at pvcohio@yahoo.com.

Best regards,

Cristina Sherer, D.V.M.
